Description

The lychgate at Christ Church was built into the west wall of the churchyard, facing High Street, but is set back behind an area paved with modern bricks. It features a timber superstructure supported by corbels that project from the side walls made of local limestone. The lychgate has a double hipped slate roof topped with decorative crest tiles. The side walls are reinforced with buttresses at the front and rear, which have offsets that are coped in freestone. The lychgate is fitted with modern steel gates.
