Description
This is an 1885 goods shed, now used as a private railway repair shop. Constructed of squared limestone rubble with a slate roof, it is a long, rectangular building with a low-pitched roof. The front elevation, facing the street, features three sets of double doors, each sheltered by a flat wooden canopy. There are also four sixteen-pane iron casement windows, set within segmental-headed surrounds with rustication. A small foot door is located at the right-hand end, and a tall stone stack rises from the roof towards the right-hand end. The gable wall facing the railway line has a large opening for railway trucks, accompanied by a window below and another above. The track-facing elevation has eleven windows mirroring those on the front. The roof structure incorporates queen posts. The building appears to be largely unaltered and represents a good example of its type.
