Description
Y Gro is a two-storey farmhouse built in two units, featuring a single-unit extension on the left that is slightly set back from the main frontage, along with a central rear service bay. The building is constructed from whitewashed stone rubble and has a slate roof with rendered stacks. The front elevation includes sixteen-paned hornless sash windows both above and below, with gables over the upper floor windows that extend through the eaves. There is a central glazed door, which is now enclosed in a glazed gabled porch. The right end elevation has six-pane hornless sash windows. The left extension features two-light windows and a boarded door, with both the door and lower window set beneath a continuous timber lintel that is chamfered over the openings. The rear wing includes an external boarded door and window.
In front of the farmhouse, there is a small raised garden with an iron spearhead gate and railings atop a low wall, accessible by three slate steps at the gate.
The interior has a two-unit plan with a central staircase. The left unit originally served as the kitchen and contains a large hearth. The square section joists are framed into a chamfered spine beam, which is exposed in the left unit and features plain stops.
