Description

This is a house with agricultural outbuildings located on the north side of Wyn Llan, built from local rubble stonework. The roof is now covered with steel sheeting, supported by the original trusses, purlins, and crosswalls. The main entrance and most windows are on the long south-facing front elevation. The initial part of the structure, which consists of three bays, measures about 14 metres in length. It features a square window, two wide doorways, and a raised window through the eaves in the first two domestic bays. The third bay, interpreted as a byre, has two door openings, one of which has been converted into a window.

The barn, which is slightly narrower and about 8 metres long, is aligned differently from the main building. The change in masonry at the junction is visible on both sides. It has a large doorway in the first bay (bay four) and a small rear window opposite. The second bay (bay five) includes a loft opening and a blocked small opening below.

Additionally, there is a later lofted byre or stable that extends a further 5 metres to the east, featuring outside stone stairs that lead to a loft door in the gable end. The change in masonry here also indicates a different construction date. This section includes a door and window with cyclopean lintels, a small loft window above, and at the rear, a small square window under a timber lintel with another small loft window above.

The original three-bay building has stone gable walls. Truss 1 comprises a tie, collar, and truncated king post, while Truss 2 consists of a tie and two raking struts, with an inserted cross wall of stone beneath. There is a large hearth in the gable wall facing the road, with a remnant of a bread oven to its left. Additional cross beams suggest the addition of informal lofting.
