Description
The farm buildings range at Pentre includes a three-bay threshing barn and an attached series of minor farm buildings extending from its corner towards the farmhouse. The structures are built from local rubble stone masonry, featuring larger stones at the corners, and are topped with slate roofing. Although the barn no longer has its large doors, it retains several original ventilation slits in the end and side walls.
The attached range begins with a shed that has a loft and slatted window openings. The central section includes slit ventilation openings and a boarded door, while the final section is a cart-shed with a granary above, accessed by a gable-end door and a stone staircase.
At the rear, modern sheds have been constructed against these buildings. The last section features a cart-shed opening with a large bowed oak lintel and two granary windows above. The roof trusses of the barn appear to have been replaced in the 19th century.
