Description
The farm courtyard at Tir Pentre features two sides constructed from whitewashed rubble stone and topped with slate roofs. The main southern range is taller and includes a barn to the west, a lofted stable, and a cartshed to the right, all of which are integral to the structure. The east end gable displays a plaque dated 1865 above a cart entry, which is framed by stone voussoirs forming an arch. The rear southern wall contains a stable to the right, with a door situated between two windows, and two similar loft windows above, all featuring 9-pane sash windows. To the left, the barn has a tall barn door with a cambered head and stone voussoirs, with a loop window on each side. The northern elevation facing the courtyard is obscured by two ranges that run north to enclose the court. This elevation includes a barn door with stone voussoirs to the right, followed by a loop window, then a window and door with a timber lintel beneath a square loft light. A door to the left also has stone voussoirs. The northeast wing is lower and single-storey, featuring three doors: two full height and a central door with stone voussoirs. The hay-barn to the right has yellow brick square piers supporting five open bays and a slate roof with staggered slates. Four of the open bays have been infilled.
