Description
Cefncoed is a farmhouse with whitewashed render and a slate roof, featuring a large square stone stack on the left end and a smaller rendered stack on the right end. There is an attached service range to the left that shares the same ridge line but has a steeper pitched roof. The left end stack has been removed since 1966. The farmhouse is two-storey with a three-window range that is offset to the right. It has 20th-century plastic sashes that imitate the previous six-pane sashes, along with a plastic door that has an overlight. The upper windows are located under the eaves. The service wing is constructed of whitewashed rubble stone and has 20th-century windows on each side of a half-glazed door; the left window is narrow while the right is square, both featuring timber lintels. The rear and end walls are also whitewashed rubble. The back of the house has three 20th-century plastic windows under the eaves, with some brick rebuilding in between. There are two windows at the rear of the service range, one of which is blocked in the center. Although not accessible during the resurvey, it is reported to have substantial oak transverse beams and an inglenook with a cambered-headed oak bressummer and a brick oven.
