Description

The enclosed pool and well head at Ffynnon Beuno is a structure made of roughly axe-dressed limestone, extending from the northwest corner of Ffynnon Beuno farmhouse to enclose a rectangular spring water pool measuring 3 meters by 5 meters and 1 meter deep. Although it was described as derelict in 1986, it is now intact, featuring a simple coping of upright stones along the wall. A metal hand-pump is attached to the left of a boarded gate in the south wall, and a few steps lead down from this gate to the water. The pool's overflow is marked by water flowing through the mouth of a grotesque stone face set low in the west wall.
