Description
Brynbella South Lodge and Gates is a single-storey gatelodge dating from the 19th century, featuring a hipped double-pile slate roof with metal hip and ridge covers. It has stone chimneys located at the center of the front pile and at the rear. The front façade is made of ashlar limestone and includes a cornice and blocking course, two round-headed windows, and a central round-headed doorway. The front windows are sash type, designed to fit the curve of the heads, while the main door consists of four panels and has a fanlight above.
The lodge is positioned at right angles to the gates, which are supported by four ashlar piers approximately 2 meters high, topped with stone copings. The main gates and side gates have been replaced with steel. The name "Brynbella" is carved into the right main pier.
