Barn & Cowhouse ar Cae'e Berllan

This building is a barn and cowhouse located at Cae'e Berllan, listed as Grade II. It is constructed from local rubble with large stones used in the foundations, particularly at the rear. The main section features an old, thick slate roof, while the animal house has later slates, with some repairs made using modern materials in one bay at the rear. The northern elevation has a steeper roof pitch on the right bay. On the left side, there is a doorway and a window to the cowhouse, both with wooden lintels, and a blocked window above the door. A square window is located at the eaves, along with two slit ventilators. To the right of these features, there is a broad doorway with modern doors, a boarded door, and a small vent loop above. The rear of the building has a single door and a window to the east.

Inside, the roof has two tiers of purlins. To the west, there is a raised cruck truss with a collar, although the tie beam is missing. The purlins in the west bay are heavier than those in the rest of the barn, and the roof pitch is steeper; there are timbers on the rear of the cruck to adjust the pitch. Additionally, there are two other pegged roof trusses of the collar and tie-beam type. Between the barn and the cowhouse, there is a stone partition wall that rises to approximately 2 meters, above which is a roof truss with queen posts.
