Description
The building is a barn located to the west of Cyffdy Hall, dating from the 19th century. It is constructed of rubble on boulder foundations and features a continuous medium-pitched slate roof. The main entrance is raised and located off-centre to the left, accessed by three steps. This entrance includes an exposed timber lintel, a pegged doorframe, and a part stable door. To the left at ground-floor level, there is another entrance similar to the main one. To the right of the main entrance, there is an additional door flanked by small unglazed 2-light windows, and a plain open window at the far right on the upper level.
Adjoining the right side of the main barn is a 19th-century storeyed brick cartshed extension, which has a former granary above. This extension features paired depressed-arched cart entrances separated by a rubble dividing pier, and three segmentally-headed windows on the upper floor, all covered with corrugated shuttering. The end gable is also made of rubble.
The primary barn consists of five bays, with the three bays on the right raised to create a hayloft above a byre. There is an opposing entrance near the centre, original collar-and-tie-beam trusses supporting the roof, and contemporary box-framed partitions flanking the second bay.
