Agricultural Range at Cefn-y-Coed Isa

The Agricultural Range at Cefn-y-Coed Isa is a long barn constructed from whitened rubble, topped with a slate roof. It features central and outer entrances, each with boarded doors and exposed timber lintels. To the right of the left entrance, there is a 19th-century 16-pane sash window and vertical ventilation slits. Slightly stepped down and adjoining to the right is a 19th-century storied carthouse addition, which has a hipped slate roof at the lower gable end. There is external stepped access to an upper boarded door on the left, and beyond that, two wooden-latticed unglazed windows with projecting stone cills. To the far right, there is an upper loading bay with a pegged frame.

On the ground floor, the barn has two wide, segmental cart arches, along with a small window and a segmentally-arched door to the right, with brick voussoirs throughout. The primary section consists of five bays and features full cruck trusses with pegged and lapped tie beams, showing evidence of former collars. The purlins and sprockets are mostly original, and the floor is slate flagged. The lower one-and-a-half bays are stepped down.
