Description
Tyddyn-Isaf is a small farmhouse dated 1790, featuring two windows and later additions. It is constructed of whitened rubble on boulder foundations and has a slate roof. The building has squat end chimneys with plain capping and weathercoursing. The central entrance includes a 20th-century part-glazed door, flanked by late 19th-century four-pane sash windows in what appear to be original openings. The first floor has similar windows located under the eaves.
To the right of the farmhouse is a single-storey byre addition, which is nearly contemporary and has been converted to domestic use about thirty years ago, during which its roof was raised. This addition features two modern windows that were formerly entrances. At the rear of the house, there is a later slated catslide extension with modern openings.
Inside, the open ground-floor room has a beamed ceiling with plain beams and joists. The central transverse beam is inscribed with "ORO 1790." There is a large fireplace on the left end, which has a plain, slightly-cambered inglebeam bearing a similar inscription. The front windows have stepped splays, and there is a modern stair.
