Description
Pen-y-Clogwyn is a pair of single-storey vernacular cottages from the second half of the 18th century, now converted into one dwelling. The building features rock construction with boulder foundations and is finished with whitened rubble and an old slate roof, complemented by plain, squat end chimneys. Each original unit has a central entrance with boarded stable doors that include a glazed upper panel. These entrances are flanked by late 19th-century four-pane sash windows set within the original small openings. There are modern extensions at both gable ends and modern windows at the rear, one for each former cottage.
Originally, each unit consisted of two bays, and one crude pegged collar truss remains in the left unit; however, the rest of the roof structure dates from the early 20th century.
