Description

Woodcot is a two-storey house with a rough-cast render that is now painted white. The roof is covered in dark blue and light blue slates sourced from Gallt y Llan quarry in Snowdon. The chimneys are made of red brick, with some random blue bricks included.

The front elevation features asymmetrical gables, with a large gable on the left and a smaller one adjacent to it. Each gable has a tall camber-headed window fitted with small pane wooden casements. On the ground floor, there is a gabled porch with a slated roof that has a pointed arch. The entrance doorway is also pointed arched and includes a glazed door. On either side of the porch, there are pairs of camber-headed windows (small pane wooden casements) that light the sitting room and dining room.

The ground floor design is inventive, featuring a square entrance hall with a polished wooden floor. Rooms are located to the left and right of the hall, which is separated from these rooms by hinged wooden partitioning that allows for the combination of spaces as needed. At the rear of the entrance hall on the left, there is an entrance to the kitchen and scullery, as well as access to a basement pantry. The stairs are illuminated by a window on the half-landing, which leads to a bathroom. There are four bedrooms that creatively utilize the steeply pitched roofs and asymmetrical gables.
