Description

Bolnhurst is a two-storey house positioned at right angles to Close. It features rough-cast render, which is now painted cream, over stone, with some stone visible at the foundation level. The roof is made of graded courses of small slates sourced from Gallt y Llan quarry in Snowdon. The house has prominent rendered chimneys, with the one on the left (southwest) being square-sectioned and topped with a miniature gabled slated roof on short brick pillars, while the chimney on the right (northeast) is set diagonally.

The entrance front faces southeast. The cross gable on the right has a semi-circular window on the first floor and two small-pane casement windows below. To the left, the roof slopes down over a porch that is set back from the gable. The porch features a round-headed arch and an entrance doorway beyond it. There is a sloping buttress at the left angle of the porch and a circular window in the southwest wall. Above the porch, the main roof extends over a first-floor eyebrow dormer. The picturesque gable end facing Close has a massively projecting chimney, and on the ground floor, the wall slopes out with rounded corners and a small window to the right that lights the inglenook. At the rear, there is a slated dormer in the roof with small windows, and a small-pane window that lights the stairs. The northeast elevation has a roof that sweeps down over the ground floor, featuring a round-headed entrance doorway flanked by small-pane casement windows.

Inside, the porch leads to a lobby with a wooden staircase. The ground floor includes a drawing room with a large Gothic arch leading to the inglenook, a dining room, a kitchen, and a scullery. On the first floor, there is a landing with a built-in cupboard and three bedrooms.
