Description

Brooklands is a two-storey house. The exterior is rough-cast render, now painted white, and the roof is covered with graded courses of small blue slates from the Gallt y Llan quarry in Snowdonia.

The house’s front, with paired gables, faces a close. The outer slopes of the gables curve downwards over the ground floor at a lower angle. A central group of brick chimneys features a tall central stack topped with ceramic pots, flanked by smaller stacks with inclined slate covers. The first-floor windows are tall. On the ground floor, a central, internal, pointed arch porch leads to a pointed arched doorway. The porch is flanked by broad casement windows with small panes of glass. To the left, two windows illuminate the main room.

The right elevation has, to the left, a nearly square window, and to the right, a pointed arched doorway leading to a shallow porch which contains square-headed doorways for entry and storage. At the rear, tall casement windows are positioned within each gable. Below, small square windows serve the bathroom and toilet, and are flanked by a pair of shallow buttresses and broad casement windows with small panes of glass.
