Description
22 Rose Hill Street is a two-storey, four-bay house and shop with an irregular plan due to its triangular-shaped site. The building is finished in grey roughcast and features a hipped slate roof with roughcast end stacks. At the time of the survey in 2005, all openings were boarded up.
On the left side, there is a shop front with a recessed central doorway, framed by part-fluted pilasters and a moulded cornice. To the right of the shop front, there is a door with an overlight and a window. The left end wall has two windows, with the lower left and upper right windows blocked. The basement retains some earlier scribed roughcast and has two windows and a door on the right, which is accessed via stone steps.
The right end wall is narrower than the left. There is a one-and-a-half-storey rear wing that is entered at basement level from a lower path on the left side of the house. This wing has a doorway on the left side, a segmental-headed window on the right, and a gabled roof dormer. There are additional doors and a loft door further left, but these are part of No 4 Church Street, which is listed separately. The building was not inspected.
