Description
4 Church Street is a 2½-storey single-fronted cottage that is part of a range including Nos 4-10 Church Street. The exterior is finished in pebble dash painted light green, topped with a steep slate roof featuring a shared brick stack on the left side and a rear skylight. The entrance on the right has a replacement half-glazed panel door. The ground floor features replacement hornless sash windows with 16 panes, while the first floor has 12-pane hornless sash windows. In the right gable end, there is a 9-pane hornless sash window in the attic and a similar inserted window lower down on the right.
At the back, there is a rendered rear wing that was likely once a separate premises, now divided between No 4 Church Street and No 22 Rose Hill Street. This wing has an inserted half-glazed panel door on the lower storey, and directly above it, a small window has been inserted into what was formerly a gabled loading doorway, which still retains its pulley block.
