Description
The Threshing Barn and two Sheds at Glan yr Afon date from the 19th century and are aligned southwest to northeast. They are constructed from local stone rubble and feature Welsh slate gabled roofs with clayware ridges. The northeast shed includes timber ridge ventilators. The corn barn has opposing double boarded doors with timber lintels. To the left, there is a stone stairway that runs parallel to and is attached to the northwest elevation, facing the yard, which provides access to a boarded loft door in a gabled brick half-dormer. There is also a ventilation slit next to the stairway. The southwest shed has a storey height opening to the yard. The doors and windows of the northeast shed are adorned with cambered brick arches, stone lintels, and stone sills.
Inside, the threshing barn and sheds feature open rafter roofs supported by king post trusses, and there are remains of line shafting machinery in the corn barn.
