Description

Llys Alaw is a double fronted, double depth late-Georgian village house, shaped in an L-plan. It is constructed from painted roughcast masonry and features Welsh slate gabled roofs, along with plain timber fascia and barge boards. The house has red brick gable chimney stacks with brick oversailing courses. The symmetrical front elevation faces east and includes a central boarded door set within a slate-roofed gabled porch, which has plain timber fascias and barge boards, as well as roughcast rendered walls. This is flanked by 8/8 double hung sash windows. Above the apex of the porch roof is a datestone with the incised inscription: 1780. The rear elevation and the wing to the west have similar roof and window details. The interior was not accessible for inspection at the time of resurvey.
