Description
The Agricultural Range at Plas Coch is a long, two-storey barn built in two periods, primarily from the 17th century. The main section, located on the left, consists of two bays and is constructed from whitened rubble with a slate roof. It features a central entrance on the farmyard side, which includes a pegged and stopped-chamfered oak doorcase and a sliding corrugated iron door. On either side of the entrance are modern steel-framed windows. The upper floor has a square opening under the eaves to the left, which has an early pegged frame.
Adjoining this is a brick range that has a wide depressed-arched cart opening on the far left, with a square open window above it. To the right of this opening is an external stair made of whitened rubble, providing access to an upper entrance that also has a pegged frame. There are two modern entrances to the right, with the first and larger one featuring an external sliding door. The barn includes three tiers of decorative ventilators, with the central ones being the most intricate. The lower half of the roof is made of corrugated iron.
