Description
Upper Barn at Cefndeuddwr is a mid to late 17th century rubble barn, partly built onto rock and topped with a corrugated iron roof. It features wide opposing entrances on the long north and south sides. The entrance on the south side has a timber lintel and a part-contemporary stopped-chamfered pegged oak doorcase, complete with tongue-stops to the lintel beam, and modern stable doors. There are two tiers of blocked ventilation slits. The upper loading bays are located at the gable ends, with the eastern bay having 19th century external stone-stepped access.
The barn has four bays and a slate-flagged floor. It retains largely original pegged collar trusses with tie beams, although the tie beam from the first truss on the left is cut off at the wall.
