Description
The barn and cowhouse range at Dylysau Isaf is a historic structure built from stone slabs arranged in courses, featuring well-crafted quoins. The roof is covered with small, thin slates laid in regular courses. The front elevation includes two doorways, each with deep stone lintels. The larger right doorway has a corresponding door at the rear, providing access to the threshing floor. To the right of the right doorway, a former doorway has been narrowed to create a window. The left doorway is smaller and features double doors, with a small window to its right.
At the southeast end, there is a former lofted cowhouse with two windows that retain their original dimensions, each with simple stone lintels. A door leading to a former longitudinal feeding passage has been cut into the southeast gable. The northwest end of the building was originally a barn, which had short ventilation slits that are now blocked, each with a dripstone.
The original roof structure consists of collar and tie-beam trusses with angle struts, along with original purlins, though the rafters were replaced in the 19th century.
