Description
The cowhouse at Cynlas Fawr is a single-storey rectangular structure built from roughly-squared and roughly-coursed slatestone blocks, topped with a corrugated asbestos roof and featuring boulder corner stones. The main northwest side has six entrances, each with large slate lintels. Currently, only the second and fifth entrances from the left remain open, both fitted with boarded stable-type doors. The first and third entrances are walled up, while the others have six-pane windows with top tilting sections.
Inside, the cowhouse has a five-bay open layout supported by thin 19th-century bolted collar trusses. It originally included tie beams, which have since been removed.
