Description
The large cowhouse at Coed-y-Bedo is a rectangular structure built from rough-dressed local stone, featuring large coursed blocks at the corners and the lower gable end. The roof is made of slate on the northeast pitch and corrugated asbestos on the southwest side. The upper part of the lower gable end is constructed from 20th-century brick. On the northeast side, there are three entrances that increase in height from left to right, following the slope of the hill, each with boarded doors and slate lintels. The southwest side has a blocked entrance on the right, which has been converted into a window, and a catslide outshut attached to the far left, creating an overall L-plan layout.
Inside, the cowhouse has a four-bay design with tie beams and curved, pegged braces, and it features some reused cruck blades.
