Description
Beudy and Ysgubor is an L-plan range consisting of a cowhouse and a barn, built in a traditional style. The cowhouse is positioned at right angles to the slope of the land and features massive boulder construction with a renewed slate roof and a roughly coped lower gable. In front of the lower gable, there is a rough stone platform with a doorway that has a projecting rough stone lintel. The upper gable has a high-set pitching door that is accessed from the barn, which is located to the rear and aligned along the slope. The barn is also constructed from rough boulders, though of a smaller grade, and has a slate roof. It features a doorway on the left side of the lower long wall and pitching doors in each gable.
Inside the cowhouse, there is a well-preserved interior that includes three curved principals with roughly cambered collars, set into the wall like raised crucks, supporting two flat purlins and pegged rafters. The central walkway is paved with stone flags, and some cobbles are visible beneath the concrete in the stalls, which also retain timber stall dividers. The barn has simple A-frame trusses and renewed rafters.
