Description
The Field Cowhouse, also known as a beudy, at Glasfryn-bach is a building constructed from local boulders, featuring a grouted slate roof with coping slates. It consists of five bays, with a three-bay cowhouse at the eastern end and a two-bay stable at the northern end, which has access from the rear. On the southern side, there is a single boarded door, and the northern side includes some corbelled stones.
A stone wall separates the cowhouse from the stable. The cowhouse has a feed walk along the dividing wall, which is accessible from the southern side, and there is a door leading into the beudy. The stable features a manger along the western gable wall. The roof structure includes collar beam trusses, with the principals embedded in the walls, supporting two tiers of purlins. Notably, there are scratched marks on one of the collar beams.
