Description
This is an early to mid-19th century milestone associated with the turnpike road that was first established in the 1820s. The milestone is made of slate stone and features a simple chamfered top edge, which is set into a boundary wall. It is inscribed with "MLS." in the top right corner, and below that, it reads "PENYGROES 6/ RHYD-DDU 1".
