Description
Bwthyn is a row of three copper miners' cottages built in the mid-19th century. The cottages are constructed from roughly coursed rubblestone, with the left part painted, and feature a large graded slate roof. They are single storey and have a long rectangular plan, although the right cottage is now abandoned.
The cottages originally had six mid-19th century plate glass sash windows in their original openings, but now have five, positioned on either side of regularly spaced plank doors. Each cottage has integral end stacks and two ridge stacks, all equipped with slate drips, with the ridge stacks shared between the cottages. The right cottage has a widened entrance at the front, replacing the original doorway and right window. The left and centre cottages still have their original drystone-walled garden enclosures at the front.
The interior was not inspected during the survey.
