Description
This is a cowhouse built in the 18th century. It is constructed from roughly coursed rubblestone on a boulder plinth and has a rendered east gable end, topped with a slate roof. The rectangular building is set into a slope running east to west, truncated at the west end, and features a set-back extension to the east that shares the same roof line.
On the south wall, there is a stable door to the right, positioned directly beneath a raking dormer that has a boarded hatch above the eaves. There is also a stable door for the extension located at the angle where it meets the main structure. The 18th-century section has a roof structure consisting of three full bays and a half bay to the west due to the truncation, supported by three A-frame trusses of light scantling.
