Description

Ysgwyfraith is a one and a half storey house with three windows, built from local random rubble, although the eastern side features higher quality dressed stone, which was the former front. It has a slate roof and tall stone chimneys, with the right chimney being more massive. The front wall is adorned with three gabled dormers that have late 19th century sash windows and bargeboards. The entrance door is located beneath a shallow gabled porch made of rendered brick. To the left of the porch are two windows, and to the right is one window, all of which are 2-light casements set beneath deep stone lintels. There is a lean-to addition on the left side of the house.

At the rear, there is a single-storey outshot on the left, which was formerly a dairy, and it includes a former wheel pit to the south. Above this outshot is a small modern flat-topped dormer. The eastern elevation features a doorway with a segmental head made of thin voussoirs and a drip mould above it. To the right of the door is a datestone marked 'RWM 1757'. Additionally, to the right of the doorway, there are two square windows with simple stone lintels that now have modern casement glazing.

Inside, there is an inglenook fireplace at the south end of the house, which is under a deep cambered wooden lintel. It is said that there is another fireplace at the north end, but it is concealed due to modernisation.
