Description
Glan-y-Pwll, Penmachno.
Early C19 terrace on line of old main road through Penmachno. Originally 4 houses extended to E to make 5, and also to W as an additional 2 now ruined and thus no longer of special interest.
Local brown-grey rubble with slate roofs. Heavily built stone chimneys, rectangular, but smaller E end house has square chimney. Each house has square-headed doorway with single small pane window (generally 16-pane) to L, under continuous stone sill. First floors have single square window (generally 9-pane sashes) above ground floor window and set at eaves. Windows have stone sills and generally hornless sash glazing. House at E end has polygonal gable end where it abuts main road. To L of E house is attached small shed with front wall of large upright slate slabs.
In poor condition at time of inspection (January 1992).
