Description
4 Glan-y-Pwll is an early 19th-century terrace located along the old main road through Penmachno. Originally consisting of four houses, it was extended to the east to create five houses, and to the west with an additional two houses that are now ruined and no longer of special interest.
The terrace is constructed from local brown-grey rubble and features slate roofs. It has robust stone chimneys, which are rectangular, although the smaller house at the eastern end has a square chimney. Each house has a square-headed doorway with a single small pane window, typically a 16-pane design, located to the left under a continuous stone sill. The first floors have a single square window, generally 9-pane sashes, positioned above the ground floor window and set at the eaves. The windows have stone sills and typically feature hornless sash glazing. The house at the eastern end has a polygonal gable end where it meets the main road. To the left of the eastern house, there is a small attached shed with a front wall made of large upright slate slabs.
At the time of inspection in January 1992, the building was in poor condition.
