Description
Pont Llan is a bridge approximately 60 metres long with a carriageway about 4 metres wide. It features five arches, including two main arches that span the river, separated by a cutwater on the upstream side, and three lower flood arches to the west. The arches are elliptical, constructed with thin voussoirs beneath shallow hoods. The bridge has a slate parapet that is approximately 1 metre high, topped with vertically-set cappings.
On the south parapet, there is an inscription that reads:
'Pont isel drafel ar dro - pont lydan I wladwyr drafaelio Pont a fydd mewn pant tra fo Pont ar ochor Pentrefachno I. Hughes a Harry Parry O Garnarvon 1785.'
Additionally, there is an inscription on the rear of the same stone featuring the initials 'JWMO IWE' (?), along with the date 'AD 1903'. This stone also has faintly inscribed heads of two men with pipes, who are said locally to be the builders of the bridge.
