Description
Glan-y-Pwll is an early 19th-century terrace located along the old main road through Penmachno. Originally consisting of four houses, it has been extended to the east to create a fifth house and to the west with two additional houses that are now ruined and no longer of special interest.
The terrace is constructed from local brown-grey rubble and features slate roofs. It has robust stone chimneys that are rectangular in shape, except for the smaller house at the eastern end, which has a square chimney. Each house includes a square-headed doorway with a single small pane window, typically a 16-pane design, to the left of the door, all set beneath a continuous stone sill. The first floors have a single square window, usually 9-pane sashes, positioned above the ground floor window and aligned with the eaves. The windows are fitted with stone sills and generally have hornless sash glazing. The easternmost house features a polygonal gable end where it meets the main road. To the left of this eastern house, there is a small shed attached, with a front wall made of large upright slate slabs.
At the time of inspection in January 1992, the building was noted to be in poor condition.
