Description

1 Church View comprises a terrace of three two-window houses built in the later 1850s. The construction is contemporary with the rebuilding of the local parish church. The front elevation is of roughly coursed rubble stone, with rubble stone to the sides and rear. The roofs are slate-covered, featuring four tall rectangular stone chimneys with water tabling. The roofline overhangs at the gable ends, featuring plain bargeboards. The houses are set off to the right within the building block. Each house has two small, square casement windows on the front. Below these are a doorway (to the right) and a vertically proportioned two-light casement window. The ground-floor windows and doorways are each set beneath deep stone lintels. Simple boarded doors provide access. At the rear, the roof slopes down to ground-floor level.
