Description

Glan-y-Pwll is an early 19th-century terrace located along the old main road through Penmachno. Originally consisting of four houses, it was extended to the east to create a fifth house and to the west with an additional two houses that are now in ruins and no longer of special interest.

The terrace is constructed from local brown-grey rubble and features slate roofs. It has prominent stone chimneys, which are rectangular, although the smaller house at the eastern end has a square chimney. Each house has a square-headed doorway with a single small pane window, typically a 16-pane design, to the left of the door, all under a continuous stone sill. The first floors have a single square window, generally 9-pane sashes, positioned above the ground floor window and aligned with the eaves. The windows have stone sills and are mostly hornless sash glazing. The house at the eastern end has a polygonal gable end where it meets the main road. To the left of the eastern house, there is a small attached shed with a front wall made of large upright slate slabs.

At the time of inspection in January 1992, the building was in poor condition.
