Description
The privy at Benar is a 19th-century structure built from local flat rubble and topped with a thick slate roof. It features centrally-placed double wooden doors and gable ends on the northwest and southeast sides. The southeast gable has a small square window, while the northwest gable has a blocked square window. The building is set into a slope that drops steeply down to a stream at the rear, which flows through square-headed openings in the lower part of the gable walls. Inside, there is a two-seater latrine with wooden seats that overhang the stream, allowing waste to be carried away.
