Description

Llandeilo-yr-Ynys Farmhouse is a three-storey house with a three-window front, constructed from rubble stone with pebble-dashed side and rear walls, topped by a slate roof and featuring brick stacks. The openings are offset to the left side. A central panel door, which includes glazed panels, is situated beneath a canopy supported by moulded brackets. The windows have cambered stone heads and are shorter on the upper storey. All windows are late 19th century two-pane sashes with wide margin lights.

On the asymmetrical left gable end, there is a small-pane two-light casement located lower left under a wooden lintel. The right gable end features an attic casement on the left side and an added conservatory. Further to the right is a two-storey, three-window rear wing, which is likely the oldest part of the house but was rebuilt after 1931. This wing has a central half-glazed porch that contains a boarded door and overlight. The windows here are small-pane casements with top-hung casements above transoms. The lower storey has three-light windows flanking the porch, while the upper storey features a three-light window to the left and two-light windows in the centre and to the right. The gable end of the wing has a projecting 18th-century stack, which has been rebuilt in brick above the roof line. The rear of the wing includes a lean-to with a half-lit boarded door and flanking small-pane windows.

The rear of the main range is two-storey and has two two-light small-pane casements in the lower storey under segmental heads. In the upper storey, there are corresponding square-headed windows with small-pane glazing and top-hung casements, along with a narrower window to the left.

Inside, the farmhouse mainly features details from the late 19th century. The room on the right, now combined with the original entrance hall, contains a large fireplace with a timber lintel and a bread oven. A single cross beam has a plain stop-chamfer. The parlour on the left has a 19th-century panelled door.
