Description
Capel Ifan is a tall two-storey house constructed from rubble stone, featuring a steep slate roof and white-brick end stacks. The front façade has four window openings that are offset to the right side. The two right-hand windows and the main entrance are a late 19th-century addition, marked by a vertical joint that separates them from the original structure. The entrance is located in an open gabled porch supported by wooden posts, and it includes a panelled door with an overlight. The windows on the right side have segmental-headed brick surrounds for the late 19th-century openings, while the left side retains earlier lintels. The two central windows are narrower than the others, and there is a smaller window on the left side of the upper storey.
Attached to the left gable end is a lower two-storey, two-window wing that aligns with the main house and has a stone end stack on the left. In the lower storey, the window and doorway to the right feature segmental stone heads, with the doorway having a half-glazed panelled door. The windows in this wing are small-pane hornless sashes. Additionally, there is a low wing on the left side that extends at right angles and has a pent corrugated iron roof. At the rear, this wing includes a central opening beneath the eaves that is boarded up, along with a blockwork lean-to on the left side that abuts the main range. The rear of the main range has an outshut behind the original part, which features replaced windows. The late 19th-century extension at the rear is roughcast and also has replaced rear windows.
