Description
Capel Bigawdin is a small ruined chapel with a stream flowing through it. The walls are made of rubble stone, standing to full height in the west and east walls, which still show putlog holes. The north wall is reduced to half its original height, while the south wall serves as a retaining wall for a steep bank. There is a pointed west doorway that is double chamfered. Above this doorway is a 2-light square-headed window featuring chamfered mullions, designed in the style of the 16th century. A gabled bellcote is partially collapsed. Inside, the west wall has a corbelled niche located to the upper right of the doorway, and the north wall also contains a small corbelled niche. The east wall retains a window opening, although the dressings have been removed.
