Description
Pont-ar-Gothi is a double-carriageway bridge made of rubble stone, built in two phases that are separated by a visible butt joint on the underside. It features segmental arches with narrow voussoirs. The northern side of the bridge is the older section, which includes V-shaped cutwaters that extend up to the parapet, creating refuges. The coped parapet is corbelled out. On the right bank, there is a V-shaped buttress at the abutment, while the left side connects to the Cresselly Arms. On the wider southern side, stepped V-shaped cutwaters have pyramidal offsets beneath a band at the base of the coped parapet. The plain abutments on this side have shallow stepped buttresses.
