Description

The Byre Range at Cae Hir is a 17th century byre constructed from boulders, with a nearly contemporary addition at the upper end. The entire structure was raised in the 19th century. It features old slate roofs and weather-coursing where the primary block meets the raised upper section. The entrance to the lower section, located off-centre to the right, has a boarded door and a small square light to the left. There are two ventilation slits on both sides of the upper block, along with another boarded door at the rear. The primary block also has double stable doors at the back, and the interior includes plain 19th century trusses.
