Description
Tyn Twll is a vernacular one-and-a-half storey cottage dated 1754. It is constructed of rich iron-stone rubble and features a slate roof with a rubble gable parapet on the right side. The cottage has end chimneys with plain capping and weather-coursing. The entrance is off-centre to the right and has a modern part-glazed door. Above the door is an inscribed sandstone plaque displaying the date and initials IL P JI, which has been recently strengthened. There are 20th-century windows flanking the entrance; the left window has two panes, while the right window is a four-pane casement. Above these, there are three rubble gabled dormers, each with plain-glazed windows and plain bargeboards.
To the left, there is a 19th-century brick and rubble lean-to with a corrugated iron roof, featuring a boarded door and a four-pane sash window on the left side. To the right, there is a former dairy addition that has modern openings. The rear of the cottage is rendered and includes a modern window.
Inside, the hall and entrance lobby have beamed ceilings. The hall features a fireplace with a chamfered bressummer.
