Description
This is an 18th century boulder-built vernacular byre located northeast of Plas Brondanw, featuring a 20th century slate roof, although the gable parapets have been removed. The entrance is off-centre to the right and consists of a boarded stable door topped by a large slate lintel. There are rectangular open windows on either side of the entrance, as well as another window on the southwest gable, which is a reduced cart opening.
Inside, the byre has a four-bay layout with pegged tie-beam trusses that include raking struts. The tie-beam on the far right (northeast) has been cut at the walls. Some of the roof timbers appear to have been reused from an earlier structure.
