Description
The Dolphin Gates and Gatepiers at Plas Brondanw, dating from the 20th century, feature tall, off-set rubble gatepiers topped with oversailing coursing and moulded capping. They are adorned with reconstituted stone flaming-urn finials. The decorative wrought-iron gates are painted in the distinctive Clough Williams-Ellis blue, although they were removed for exhibition at the time of the survey in March 1997. To the left, a lower rubble wall extends southwest for approximately 2 meters, with a slate bench set against it on cement-stone supports. Beyond this, a screen of plain railings with fleurs-de-lis heads runs for 5 meters before ending in a plain square rubble pier that steps down.
