Description

Nos 1-3 Plas Brondanw Cottages

Rectangular gabled block of 2 stories with attic and raised ground floor to garden side; of rubble construction with shallow-pitched slate roof and stepped gable parapets. Plain central chimney with weather-coursing. Symmetrical W gable (facing gardens) with wooden Tuscan doorcase applied decoratively to the ground-floor centre; moulded pediment and a narrow 8-pane window within. In front of the doorcase is a raised platform with flights of stone steps leading to the garden level to R and L; arched recess below. Flanking this are two recessed 16-pane sash windows to both floors, all in reduced openings. In the gable apex, a small 12-pane sash with segmental niche above. Modern 12-pane windows to N side with 15-pane glazed door to R; all openings are altered. Similar door and windows to E gable and to ground-floor of S side with, on the first floor, a 9-pane steel-framed, arched-headed window (mid C20).

The interior was not inspected at the time of survey.
