Incline Cottage

Incline Cottage is a 2-storey rectangular building constructed with roughly hewn rubble elevations, featuring slate stone voussoir lintels and slate roofs. The entrance is located on the west side, which has two windows and blocked openings below, with deeply recessed modern doors. The main elevation faces north and consists of three bays, with the outer bays having open pediments. The first floor has small pane sash windows set in broad recesses with semicircular arched heads that spring from the bases of the pediments; there is a 24-pane window on the left, a 16-pane window on the right, and a later inserted 12-pane window in the center, added after 1879. The central bay has a rendered first floor and pebbledash on the infilled ground floor. The west side mirrors the entrance front but features 12-pane Gothic headed sash windows on the ground floor, along with a modern narrow window in the center. The rear elevation matches the north side but includes modern alterations such as the rendering of the window recess and the addition of a kitchen extension and a two-storey bay in the center. Some slate stave fencing has been retained.
