Description
Tan-y Bryn Lodge is a two-storey building featuring a first floor made of snecked rubble and a ground floor and rear constructed from random rubble. It has a slate roof with plain bargeboards and overhanging eaves on the sides. The structure includes octagonal rubble chimney stacks, with a cross-roofed lateral chimney breast on the north side. The windows are casement style.
The main east elevation is a gable end facing the road, showcasing a three-light window with voussoirs and a Tudor label above a splayed oriel window that has a slate hood and wooden shutters. Below the window cill is a band inscribed with Gothic lettering that reads "Latrat Canis, Cavear Latro. Lle bo ci, lleidr a ffu." The base of this band features a carved figure of Cerberus, the three-headed guard dog of the Underworld, which serves as an unusual warning against thieves who were stealing shrubs from the driveway.
On the left side of the building, there is a central cross gable just above the eaves, along with some modern alterations, including a gabled porch near the front corner.
