Description

Rhagatt Hall is a two-storey building constructed with roughly coursed and squared stone on the entrance and garden fronts, while the rear (west) elevation features rougher rubble. The roof is made of slate.

The entrance front, facing east, has a three-window arrangement with a prominent central bay that has a pediment. The entrance features a renewed recessed doorway from around 1970, which previously had columns in antis. Flanking the entrance are 12-pane sash windows, with 9-pane sashes on the first floor and above the entrance. The right-hand windows appear to be inserted, revealing scars from earlier openings beside them. Similar scars to the left of the entrance suggest that windows which were later inserted have been blocked. A wall that runs perpendicular to the main building separates the main part of the house from the service wing, which has two 12-pane sash windows on the first floor and inserted openings below.

The garden front features twin full-height bows, with boldly overhanging eaves of the hipped roof extending straight across them. Each bow has a floor-length 12-pane sash window on the ground floor and a 6-pane sash window above. The long rear (west) elevation includes two long casement windows on the lower right, with 6-pane sash windows above; a stair window that has been reduced in length, and a blocked doorway that appears to have been cut by the current stairs in the angle with a projecting full-height bow. There are paired long casement windows that were inserted in the bow, along with further inserted openings in the two-window range beyond. The cross wing to the left may date back to an early period but was remodelled around 1970.
